As announced previously, as part of the recent UITS reorganization, the Unix Systems Support Group is no more. Unix support and education for the IU community is now being handled by Local Support Provider Services (LSPS) for departmental support providers and by the UITS Support Center for Faculty, Students, and Staff.

Furthermore, the support documentation on this site is in the process of being moved to the Knowledge Base. The documentation on the USSG site will not be maintained and will eventually be removed. For Unix support at IU, please contact your Local Support Provider (LSP) or the UITS Support Center.

As part of the ongoing reorganization of UITS starting in July, the support and education functions of the USSG will be moving to the Support Division of UITS. For the time being, the ussg@iu.edu contact address, http://ussg.iu.edu/contact web form, and ussg phone lines will remain the same. Any change to these means of contacting UITS for Unix Support will be announced well before their implementation. We remain committed to providing high quality Unix and Linux support to the IU community and will do our best to make these changes as painless as possible.
